Wow, left this one for a while...

I finally got around to opening this save again!

I changed one of the generic classrooms in the Natural Science Building to a lab...

The campus is still in need of a gymnasium, proper theater and a shopping mall at least!

An observation

I began working on the Old Campus. It will be the administrative center for the campus. On the hill, this is the site of the original campus and the benefactor's estate (thanks to Cami for building Rotherton and Duke Simmington University and allowing their inclusion.)

The park in the center of the hill area has been rebuilt to give it a college feel and also to tie the other lots together on the hill.

I had an idea to place koi spawners in the fountains, but alas, the fish will not appear in the fountains. Perhaps just as well, as I was trying to stay away from the WA expansion. I may change my mind as I want to have a koi pond in the "mall" area between the administration buildings as pictured below.

For now, I will replace the koi spawners with common ugly lake spawners. :P

Updated screenshots

I've added several academic buildings that will house the classrooms!

The ground floor of each building has a computer lab and bathrooms.

The upper floor has three classrooms. The empty one in the below screenshot will be a lab or specialty classroom, with drawing tables, sculpting wheels, easels, etc.

Here I go again!

I've had another idea! No real news there. But this time I actually started doing something with it.

I got this idea for a University Campus in The Sims 3. I have several sims in legacies and other stories nearing college age and would like to send them off for some higher learning. University was one of my favorite EPs in The Sims 2. I am disappointed (and still hopeful) that we will get some sort of university experience with TS3.

Anyway, in mulling over what I would want this experience to be, I thought I would make a new world dedicated solely to campus life. The campus would be the central "character" as opposed to sims. This would negate the need for collaboration on stories, as the chances of two particular students ever meeting on a campus is slim. However, any who would like to collaborate are free to do so.

Cami suggested removing the RH so the sims would not take jobs to hinder the project. I did leave the mausoleum, bookstore and grocery.

I placed some Night Life high rises and remade them to look dorm-like; so naturally Night life is required, as will be Ambitions. Although there are aspects/objects/etc. I would like to include from World Adventures, I will include them in my personal save.

I have almost completely gutted Sunset Valley, and have begun the rebuilding process. I settled on the Sunset Valley world map because I believe it has the most 30x40 lots centrally located; which is the lot size for the high rise lots I've chosen.

I have uploaded the world to Mediafire (link in the sidebar) if anyone would like to download and contribute to the building process.

Here is a list of facilities that I would like to have on the campus:

Administration
Airport (where the military base was located)
Alumni Center
Arboretum

Chapel
Classrooms
Clinic
Coffee Shop
Consignment (Pawn) Shop

Daycare Center (to be added with release of Generations)

Fish Hatchery
Fraternities/Sororities

Gymnasium

Libraries

Movie Theater
Museums (Art, Natural History)

Parks
Pools (indoor and outdoor)

Student Center
Sports Field (where the stadium was located)

Theater for Performing Arts

This list is not all inclusive. There is a Local Watering Hole included (compliments of Cami).
